Growing up in a small town in Minnesota, Dr. John Lundgren learned the value of hard work and helping others early on. He attended college at the University of Notre Dame and later earned his dental degree from the University of Minnesota. After finishing school, he joined the United States Navy as a dental officer to serve his country. Dr. Lundgren served 20 years in the Navy and retired with the rank of Captain. During his military career, he focused on endodontics, the specialty of dentistry dedicated to saving natural teeth. He completed advanced training at the National Naval Medical Center and earned a Master’s degree from George Washington University. Today, he is a Board-Certified Endodontist, meaning he has completed additional testing to demonstrate advanced expertise in treating the inner structures of teeth.

A board certified Endodontist, Dr. Jeff Hilley is thrilled to serve the First Coast community at Endodontic Excellence. He recently retired from a 20-year active duty career in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps, where he served his final tour as the navy’s endodontist for the Jacksonville region at Naval Station Mayport. Originally from Cobb County, Georgia, Dr. Hilley earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He subsequently earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Dental College of Georgia followed by service in multiple locations around the United States and abroad. He completed his residency in Endodontics at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland in 2014, also earning a Masters of Science in Oral Biology from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.
